What CourPlay knows about you.

CourPlay is built and operated by Jonathan Varley George, an individual based in the United States, who is responsible for the data described on this page. CourPlay is not currently operated by a registered company; if that changes, this section changes with it.

Privacy questions, data requests, and anything else about how CourPlay handles your information go to animecourplay@gmail.com. It is read by Jonathan Varley George — CourPlay is one person, so there is no ticket queue and no support tier, and a reply comes from the same person who runs the service.

Signing in creates an account holding your email address and an optional display name. The display name is what other players see on the leaderboard; your email address is not shown to them. You can change your display name at any time from your account page.

While drafting is open, your lineup is visible only to you. No other player, and no public page, can read it before the weekly lock — that is enforced by the database, not only by the interface.

Lineups lock at Monday 12:00 PM ET. The draft window for a week opens the Tuesday before at 12:00 PM ET — a full six days — and you can edit your slate freely until the lock. After the lock, every submitted lineup for that week becomes visible, because a fantasy competition cannot be settled or checked otherwise. The lock is the single moment that changes it: nothing reveals a lineup earlier, and locking never makes a lineup editable again. The rules are at Rules.

Your weekly lineups, their CourScores, and your finalized weekly totals are stored for the season so standings, score receipts and your own history stay verifiable after the week ends. How those numbers are calculated is at How Scoring Works.

Nothing deletes them on a schedule: a finalized week is a permanent part of the season's record, and there is no automatic expiry. If you have your account deleted, what happens to these is set out under What deletion removes.

CourPlay records basic product analytics — which pages are opened, which steps of drafting are completed, and page performance — tied to an anonymous, browser-scoped identifier rather than to you. The contents of a lineup and personally identifying fields are stripped before any event is recorded, so usage data cannot carry your picks.

No third-party analytics, advertising or session-recording script is loaded on this site. Events are sent to CourPlay's own server, at this site's own address, and stored in CourPlay's database; they go to no analytics vendor and no advertising network. Each one is stripped a second time on arrival, because the server never assumes the browser did it.

What an event can contain is a fixed list: the page, a coarse device class (phone, tablet or desktop), the release version, the season and week, a performance measurement, and — when something fails — a short code from a fixed list naming the reason. Your email address, your display name, your full IP address, the titles you picked, and the text of any error are not collected, and there is no field for them to be stored in.

Usage data is deleted automatically after 90 days.

The only cookies CourPlay sets are the session cookies that keep you signed in. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your browser also stores two values locally: courplay:anon, the anonymous analytics identifier, and courplay:onboarded, which remembers that you have seen the introduction. Clearing site data removes both.

Accounts, lineups and scores are stored in Supabase, which also handles sign-in. The site is served by Vercel, which processes requests the way any web host does. Both are service providers acting for CourPlay, not audiences for your data.

Titles, artwork, audience counts, favorites and ratings come from AniList and describe the anime, not the players. Scores are computed from the week-over-week movement of that public data, and nothing about you is sent to AniList in order to read it.

CourPlay is free to play: no entry fee, no purchase, no wagering and no prize pool. Salaries and the $65,000 salary cap are pretend money used to make drafting a real constraint. No payment details are asked for, and none are stored.

Your account and lineup data stays while your account exists. CourPlay does not automatically expire active account data, and there is no retention clock counting down in the background — if you keep playing, your record keeps adding up. Usage data is the one exception, and it is deleted automatically after 90 days as described above.

If your account is deleted, the information that identifies you is removed. Finalized competition records may remain in anonymized form where that is necessary to keep past standings, scores and head-to-head results intact — the next section says exactly which.

When a deletion request is completed, these are removed: your sign-in account, so you can no longer sign in; your profile, which is your display name and the part of your email address it was derived from; and any lineup for a week that has not been finalized yet.

These remain, with no link to you: finalized weekly lineups, their scores, the finalized standings, and finalized head-to-head results. A settled week is a shared record — another player's head-to-head result is made of your lineup as much as theirs, and deleting it would rewrite their season, not just yours. So those rows keep their numbers and lose your name: they are detached from your account and shown as Deleted Player.

Nothing that is kept can be traced back to you through CourPlay: the account, the email address and the display name are gone, and what is left is held under a random identifier created at deletion time that points at nothing.

Deletion is handled by a person, not a button: there is no self-service delete in CourPlay yet, and this page is not going to pretend otherwise. Emailing the address below starts the request.

Send it from the email address your CourPlay account uses. That is how the request is verified as yours — you will never be asked for your password, and a request from any other address cannot be actioned.

Verified requests are completed within 30 days. What is removed, and what stays in the season record without your name on it, is set out under What deletion removes above.

CourPlay is not intended for children under 13, and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, write to animecourplay@gmail.com and the account will be removed through the same deletion process described above.

This page is an accurate description of what the product does, kept in step with the code and checked by its tests. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. No qualified legal review has taken place, and the internal product review behind this wording is not legal approval or a substitute for it. A review by a qualified professional is outstanding, and this notice stays until it has happened.
